Hello World!

March 1st, 2010

Well I’ve unpacked the computer and the internet is finally connected–so hello again blogging world! Since arriving and returning the moving truck (by the way I’ve eliminated truck driving from the list of things that I’m good at–a flat tire and a broken trailer hitch don’t help either) I’ve been meeting and talking to a lot of people. One thing that facilitated the quick jumpstart was attending a business and technology expo.

An expo is equivalent of trick or treating for adults. You get a little bag to put goodies in and you sign up to win prizes (and promotional materials). You walk around to various booths and give a pitch as you explain what you do and listen to a pitch while you nonchalantly grab your favorite fun-size candy bar sitting next to a few brochures. It is a good way to practice your sales pitch over and over. Occasionally you’ll come across a potential customer or business associate and if you’re really lucky you win the huge flat screen TV.
